“Mohsen Amiryoussefi” was born in 1972 in Abadan in south of Iran. Two years after the (Islamic) Iranian Revolution of 1979, he was forced to leave the hometown together with his family because of the Iran-Iraq war.
He studied mathematics at the Isfahan University, but practically spent most of his time in the literature department.
After finishing his National Service in Tehran, he decided to stay there and become a film-maker.
He started by making a few short films, namely “Nader and the Sword” based on a story from Kafka, and “Stony Hands” which brought him lots of national and international recognitions. /more...
